Technical production for international events: 5 success stories that inspire

Audiovisual technical production for international events demands experience, precision and a global mindset. Every detail matters when it comes to avoiding setbacks that could affect the final result. That’s why we’ve analysed the most common mistakes in technical production for international events, proving just how important it is to work with a specialist partner.

In this article, we’re highlighting five real-world success stories in which Novelty delivered tailored audiovisual solutions for international events — from tech expos to global sports competitions.

MWC 2025: technical production for the world’s leading connectivity congress

With over 109,000 attendees and 2,900 exhibitors, the Mobile World Congress 2025 turned Barcelona into the global capital of digital innovation. As the official AV partner of GSMA, Novelty handled the technical production of two critical spaces: the main stage and the event’s live broadcast stage.

On the main stage, the technical set-up combined dynamic lighting (Martin Mac Aura, Viper Wash DX, Robe Megapointe) with ultra-high-resolution LED screens (11,136 x 6,144 pixels). The entire system was synchronised via ArtNet, integrating lighting, video and visual content into a single scenic narrative.

The sound system, built around L-Acoustics Kara II arrays, SB18 subwoofers and Axient Digital microphones, ensured crystal-clear sound throughout the event. Operations were managed using Yamaha PM5 and DM7C consoles.

As for rigging, more than 1,000 metres of truss and 250 motors were installed to support scenic ceilings, LED screens and suspended subwoofers, securing the stability of the entire audiovisual structure.

The broadcast stage acted as as a fully equipped set for live transmissions, with professional lighting (SkyPanels, Q8), a 5.5 x 3m LED screen, PTZ cameras and vMix mixing systems, delivering flawless global content streaming.

ISE 2025: three custom-built stands with immersive technical solutions

ISE 2025 was the perfect place to showcase how expert audiovisual technical production can transform a stand into a brand experience. Novelty Spain collaborated on three different projects, each with a unique creative approach and the same goal: to boost visibility through innovative technology.

Starway: lighting as a product showcase

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Starway opted for a bold, high-impact design. Novelty Spain created a 7-metre-high ground support rigging system with 24+ motors and pre-configured truss structures that elevated dynamic lighting triangles. On the lighting front, fixtures like Enzo WET, Daytona and Quasar were installed to demonstrate each product’s technical and creative potential in real time. The result was a stand that was both eye-catching and highly functional, aligned with the brand’s innovative spirit.

Naostage: immersive technology

Naostage’s stand featured a 6x6m LED floor (T-Floor) and a 6x4m LED wall, hooked up to beacon-free tracking technology (K System). This setup created interactive experiences where visual content responded to visitors’ movements. Lighting for events was enhanced with Robe Spiider and Ayrton Rivale Profile fixtures, creating choreographed effects that turned the stand into a live tech demo.

Lenovo: experiential design through professional lighting

Lenovo’s stand stood out for its clean, high-tech look. Novelty Spain developed tailored lighting for events using SGM Q7, Fresnel LED 8 FC and LED profiles, all controlled by the Obsidian NX-1 console. Every area of the stand was illuminated with precision, supporting the brand narrative and drawing the attention of visitors and media alike. A true example of lighting being used as a storytelling tool.

The main stage featured a 30 x 5 metre LED videowall, laser projection and dynamic stage design aligned with each session’s content. The lighting design included over 100 fixtures (Martin MAC Viper, Ayrton Rivale, Robe Tarrantula), creating a fully integrated audiovisual system for large-scale presentations.

A surround sound system using L-Acoustics Kara II arrays, managed by Yamaha PM5 and DM7C consoles, guaranteed even sound distribution in the room and across live streams. Meanwhile, 22 conference room presentations ran smoothly with speaker changes every 20 minutes and live product demos — all supported by a perfectly coordinated technical setup.

Thanks to its expertise in high-end international events, Novelty Spain transformed the technical side of KubeCon 2025 into a seamless, high-impact experience, strengthening its position as a strategic partner in the cloud sector.

Google ESCAL8 2024: immersive "gaming room" for the global cybersecurity final

The grand final of Google ESCAL8 2024 turned the School of Computer Engineering in Málaga into the global epicentre of ethical hacking and cybersecurity. For three days, international teams competed in cryptography, reverse engineering and software vulnerability challenges — a real-time race to “capture the flag” (CTF).

Novelty Spain was selected as the full-service audiovisual partner, taking on complete technical production including lighting, sound, projection, rigging and power distribution. The challenge was to transform a traditional academic venue into a fully immersive “gaming room”.

The space was redesigned to offer an engaging, tech-forward atmosphere for both players and spectators. Immersive lighting, clear sound and real-time projection created a vibrant, functional environment — matching the high-energy and competitive nature of the event.

Thanks to precise planning and flawless execution, ESCAL8 2024 stood out not only for its world-class participants, but also for its exceptional technical setup — once again confirming Novelty’s ability to lead in unconventional event formats.

Women’s America’s Cup: elegance, technology and emotion at a high-end celebration

Held during the 37th America’s Cup — one of the world’s most prestigious sports events — the Women’s America’s Cup 2024 combined art, sports, and technology in a truly unique celebration. Taking place at Ricardo Bofill’s La Fábrica, the event’s technical production was led by Novelty Spain, which managed lighting, sound and power distribution for an unforgettable evening.

From the cypress-lined entrance lit by Astera AX9 to the custom-designed spaces like the photocall, circular cocktail area and chill-out zone, each part of the venue was crafted to deliver a sensory and aesthetic experience. Lighting tools such as Rivale Profile, SkyPanels SC60, Mac Aura XIP, Titan Tube and PixelBrick were integrated into the architecture to create stunning atmospheres.

Each space had a dedicated sound setup that featured high-quality, discreet equipment — UPM, MM4 and 108P — while the dance floor featured a special setup for live sets by Mel C (Spice Girls) and Pascal Moscheni, using Pioneer DJ gear and L-Acoustics Syva speakers.

The result was a luxury event where technical production became the invisible thread connecting elegance, emotion and audiovisual excellence.
