Audiovisual Production for Fashion Shows: Carolina Herrera Fashion Show in Madrid

In the heart of Madrid, Plaza Mayor became an iconic runway where fashion, history and technology converged. To celebrate the launch of a new perfume and unveil the Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2026 Collection, the brand transformed this historic landmark into a breathtaking stage of light, sound and emotion.

At Novelty, we were proud to be part of this unforgettable experience by providing our audiovisual production for fashion shows, including sound, lighting, structures and power distribution solutions designed to reflect Carolina Herrera’s signature values: elegance, precision and sophistication.

This project is a true demonstration of how technical production can go beyond functionality to become a creative tool that amplifies a brand’s identity and enhances its message.

The solution: a discreet, flawless and aesthetically integrated technical design that allowed fashion to take centre stage.

A Runway Show with a Technical Soul: Carolina Herrera SS26

Producing an event in Plaza Mayor posed a dual challenge: respecting historical heritage while ensuring the highest level of technical execution. Every cable, spotlight and structure had to remain invisible to the eye — yet perform perfectly.

The Novelty team designed a fully customised infrastructure, combining technical precision with artistic sensitivity. From pre-production, 3D lighting and acoustic simulations were carried out to guarantee sound uniformity and visual harmony with the square’s baroque facades.

The result was a powerful example of how audiovisual production for fashion shows can transcend technology to become part of the scenographic language itself.

Technical Solutions for the Runway Event

Lighting: Precision and Emotion on the Runway

The lighting design, created with Robe iForte LTX, Astera Tubes and Arri SkyPanels, was programmed and controlled via a GrandMA3, allowing a warm, immersive atmosphere that complemented the rhythm of the runway without stealing focus from the collection.

Lighting units were seamlessly integrated into hidden structures, creating even, natural illumination that highlighted the texture of the garments and the surrounding architecture.
Each lighting transition supported the visual storytelling of the show — from serene beginnings to its striking finale.

Sound: The Soundtrack of Elegance

The L-Acoustics sound system ensured 360° coverage so every guest, regardless of position, enjoyed the same immersive auditory experience.

Audio was mixed using a Yamaha DM7C, delivering pure, consistent sound despite the challenges of an open-air venue.

Novelty’s technical team calibrated sound levels and delay times with millimetric precision, preventing echo and distortion against the historic stone walls — maintaining crystal-clear audio throughout.

Structures and Power: Invisible Engineering in Plaza Mayor

Transforming the Plaza Mayor into a high-fashion runway was a true technical feat. The infrastructure needed to be solid and safe, yet respectful of its historic surroundings.

Modular towers and trusses with steel bases and leveling systems were installed to preserve the original pavement, ensuring stability without visual impact.

The electrical distribution was solved with a high-precision system composed of three 250 kVA (200 kW) super-soundproofed CE–Stage V certified generators, fully compliant with the environmental regulations of the Community of Madrid.

The three units operated in parallel without a neutral point, connected to a 250 kVA galvanic isolation transformer, which ensured a stable, protected, and safe power supply throughout the entire event.

The setup included an extensive network of protected cabling and electrical panels with Power Lock, CETAC, and Schuko connections, as well as over 160 linear meters of cable ramps — some accessible for reduced mobility — covering all transit areas safely and discreetly.

Novelty also managed the power supply for the backstage areas — Hair & Make-Up, sewing, photo studio, and preparation zones — ensuring a discreet, clean, and efficient installation tailored to the demands of the fashion show.

An execution that embodies Novelty’s commitment to technical precision, sustainability, and excellence in technical services for fashion events.

Heritage Respect Meets Technical Innovation

One of the greatest challenges was adapting a historic space to meet the needs of a high-end fashion event without compromising its architectural value.

Novelty applied an eco-efficient, non-invasive approach, using self-supporting structures and sustainable materials that respected the environment and heritage site.

The outcome was a clean, sustainable and visually impeccable production — proof that technical innovation and cultural preservation can coexist in harmony.

When Technology Becomes Emotion

The Carolina Herrera fashion show in Madrid was more than a fashion event — it was a sensory experience where light, sound and architecture came together to tell a story.

Every technical decision — from the hue of the lighting to the timing of the audio — was made with a single goal: to convey the brand’s essence through technology.
The result was an event that captivated audiences and projected the Carolina Herrera brand with powerful visual and emotional impact.

For Novelty, true audiovisual production lies in making the technology invisible, allowing emotion to take centre stage.

Frequently Asked Questions About Audiovisual Production in Fashion Shows

What is the role of an audiovisual partner in a fashion show?

An audiovisual partner ensures that every creative idea is translated into a seamless live experience. From sound and lighting for runway shows to power and structural design, the goal is to create an atmosphere that elevates the brand’s narrative while keeping the focus on the collection, not the technology behind it.

Why is technical production essential for a fashion event?

Because technology sustains emotion. A strong audiovisual production ensures every detail — from music to light — enhances the rhythm and narrative of the runway without distracting the audience.

What makes Novelty Spain different in fashion show production?

Every event is an opportunity to create atmospheres that speak the brand’s language. At Novelty, we blend technology, design, and scenic sensitivity to create experiences where the technical becomes invisible — and the emotion takes the spotlight.

That’s what we call the Novelty Style: our way of understanding technical production as part of the creative language of an event.
